About
IndoAryan traces two Y-DNA lineages from the Pontic-Caspian Steppe to South Asia using Big Y-700 sequencing data, ancient DNA, and qpAdm admixture modeling.
The two paths mapped here — R-FTF40903 (Jatt Sikh, Punjab) and R-FTD76230 (Iyer Brahmin, Tamil Nadu) — share a common R1a-Z93 ancestor circa 2100 BCE near Sintashta. From that divergence point, each lineage took a distinct route into the subcontinent.
This is a personal research project. All data is sourced from published aDNA studies, FTDNA haplogroup trees, and publicly available datasets. The interactive map, migration timelines, and articles are built to make population genetics accessible without oversimplifying the methods.
